Red Light Camera Equity Study

On this assignment for Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny), Urban GIS, Inc. provided a variety of geospatial services to this organization whose mission includes reducing violent crimes in the City of Chicago and providing young people positive outlets.  As part of that goal, our team conducted a series of spatial analyses and created exhibits outlining potential racial disparities associated with the oversaturation of installations of red light cameras in black and brown communities versus those of predominantly white neighborhoods.

 Working with this nationally renowned community leader we supported Project H.O.O.D. by developing data, analytics, existing and proposed utilities drawings and a variety of 3D products to support their mission.
