Doucet Field Solutions

On this utility-focused project, Urban GIS was contracted by Doucet Survey to develop customized field data collection tools and templates utilizing Esri’s Field Maps solution. Doucet Survey, a land surveying and mapping firm, desired a solution that aided them in transitioning from paper-based workflows to digital, map-based workflows that were better streamlined and adapted to the needs of their field crews.

Our team created tools that facilitate the collection of sanitary sewers, allows for importing critical information, provides functionality for calculations (sump and water elevations, Rim A/Rim B values) and displays data. Urban GIS provided several deliverables, including customized templates, data models, and processing tools for repeatable digital asset capture and field data collection solutions. We also created a step-by-step training manual and conducted training.

The online workflow allows Doucet Survey to both monitor and make adjustments to collection activities in real time, avoiding the needs for costly and time-consuming site revisits. These tools have dramatically streamlined their workflows, while providing high quality service to their customers.
