About this Project
Urban GIS designed a unique asset management application for tracking the maintenance of electrical vaults throughout Chicagoland. The interactive map allows vaults to be quickly identified. The ComEd Vault Management Application is integrated with SharePoint, which provides a cost-effective data repository that supports an array of document formats. Users can search for vaults by number, street name, or address, and then review an asset’s entire life-cycle.
With the final deliverable a variety of ever-changing attribute information—photographs, construction documents, maintenance reports, and schematics—can now be easily viewed by ComEd staff, project engineers, and contractors. They can now make more informed management decisions on topics ranging from maintenance scheduling to new site locations.
